We are a community of piano teachers based in Coventry. Our mission is to teach inspiring and creative piano lessons so that our students learn to play the music they love.
Our team of experienced and passionate piano teachers believe learning to play the piano should be an inspirational, enjoyable and collaborative experience. We are constantly looking for new ways to develop ourselves as teachers and musicians to ensure we give our students the best experience possible. Our focus is on ensuring our students are resourced and equipped to play the music they love, and we prioritise the teaching of improvisation, composition and pop music alongside technique, theory and notation.
The value that we offer includes:
Community – we believe that making music should bring people together and create opportunities for our students to build relationships and share their love of music with each other.
Collaboration – We believe that we are better when we work together – if we don’t have the answer to a problem there is someone else who does! We celebrate the unique skillset of each team member, confident that our differences make us stronger.
Here are 5 reasons to consider working with us.
As an employed staff member, you will have access to all the benefits that are missing when you’re self-employed, including sick pay, holiday pay and paid parental leave. You will also have the security and protection of a regular monthly salary that reflects the time spent on planning lessons and creating resources, as well as teaching. As a company, we recognise the importance of teachers investing in themselves as musicians and so offer all teachers paid development time every week to spend on any area of their musical development.
When you’re working by yourself as a self-employed teacher the sense of isolation can be hard to manage. When you join our team, you’ll immediately step into a community of like-minded piano teachers who work together to offer the best musical experience to their students. You’ll have people around you to collaborate with, ask for advice, and enjoy spending time with!
You will be resourced with everything you need to do your job. You’ll teach from a fully equipped school with access to all teaching resources required, including a comprehensive curriculum, acoustic and digital pianos, books, games, percussion instruments, and other teaching materials. You’ll be a part of weekly staff meetings to discuss relevant issues, and will have access to regular mentoring, training and CPD opportunities. You’ll also be resourced as a musician through having access to all our pianos for your own personal practice, opportunities to perform throughout the year, and a wide collection of books and sheet music for your reference.
You will be free to focus on what you love doing – teaching the piano! Our admin team take care of all the finances, timetabling, communication, events planning and promotions, leaving you with the time and energy to ensure you are giving your students the best musical experience possible.
At The Piano School, we are committed to transforming the way instrumental teaching is done. We love our students and want to ensure they have the best possible experience with us, but we’re not content to stop there! By working here you will be part of developing resources that will help equip other teachers and, as a result, have an impact on the musical learning of many other young musicians.
